Alicia Patterson Foundation 2014 Fellowship
by Ada Calhoun Jan 06, 2014
I'm honored to be the Alicia Patterson Foundation's 2014 Josephine Patterson Albright Fellow. Here is the press release. My topic is "reproductive rights and the criminal justice system" — in other words, women being arrested for things they do while pregnant. Two stories I've done in this area before were about an illegal at-home abortion in Idaho, and about "chemical endangerment," a controversial felony in Alabama. I will need to write four more stories on this subject by January 2015. Here is the best way to reach me with story tips: [email protected].
